Beth Barnes is so excited to be teaching the adult tap class this year! Beth grew up in Arlington, VA and has been dancing since the age of 3. She was trained by many accomplished teachers such as Susan Brock and Douglas Yeuell and performed with the companies at Arlington Dance Theatre and Joy of Motion in Washington D.C. At the tender age of 11, Beth started her own dance company in her neighbor’s basement and taught dance classes to young children for three years. In high school, Beth was a member of the award winning Yorktown Dance Team where she was also the captain her senior year. Taking a break to attend college at Longwood University to study education, Beth focused on achieving her lifelong goal of becoming a teacher. Currently, Beth is living her dream as a 7th grade Language Arts teacher at Harpers Ferry Middle School. Three years ago, along with her mom (also an accomplished dancer and dance teacher), she decided to get back into dancing and joined the Allegro family. Her goal is to make adult tap fun, and she believes everyone deserves the chance to dance!
