Desiree Acosta

Allegro Dance Company Assistant Director

Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, & Liturgical

"No Tappy, No Happy"- Barb Denny...Mrs. Desiree' has been a part of the dance world since age 6. She danced, competed, and eventually taught at a Dance Masters of America studio in Middletown, MD for fourteen years. After taking a break to start a family, she returned to the studio with a renewed passion for the art. She completed her Tap and Ballet testing at DMA's Teachers Training School in Buffalo, NY during Summer of 2018, followed by her obligation to DMA Chapter 17 that November. It's been a joy becoming a member of the chapter she grew up in and earned first runner up Teen Miss for.

Mrs. Desiree also launched the first middle school dance program at The Lucy School in Middletown, MD teaching tap, ballet, and jazz to dancers of differing skill levels. She thrives in a collaborative environment where she can play off her fellow teachers. Some of those opportunities include bringing to life The Nutcracker and Into The Woods at The Lucy School and co-choreographing The Old Opera House's productions of Cabaret and James and the Giant Peach. Mrs. Desiree is continually training and excited to share her skills with the dancers here at Allegro.
